Commission: Magazine Design and Member Engagement
When Brooklands Museum began planning for 2026 - 100 years since Britain's first Grand Prix was held at the circuit - they partnered with us to relaunch their members' magazine and turn it into a genuine engagement tool.
Our research showed a magazine doing its job for members day-to-day, but with real untapped potential - to deepen engagement, build pride in membership, and open doors with the brand partners the Museum wanted to work alongside.
Combining a milestone year with a bold creative opportunity, we rebuilt the magazine from the ground up: moving from six issues a year to four, trading frequency for a design-led, premium format built to be read, not skimmed.
The results
Two luxury hotel partners now stock the magazine in guest rooms and reception
New advertisers on board who'd never engaged with the title before
Unprompted, positive feedback arriving directly from members…
"I've just had the first flick through the new Brooklands Bulletin. Wow! What a transformation!"
"The increase in pages, the binding and paper stock really have pushed it into the premium bracket."
Beyond the Magazine
The relaunch became the start of something bigger. We've since published the programme marking the 100-year weekend celebrations, and extended the same design thinking to the Museum's digital communications — helping Brooklands engage members consistently, on and offline.
"Please pass on my congrats and thanks to all involved. It has made me re-think about my time spent at Brooklands and how I can make more of my membership."
