New Centenary Logo for the ESU

This year sees our client, the English-Speaking Union, celebrate their centenary year. We are very proud to have designed a new logo to mark this special occasion.

The English-Speaking Union is an international charity and membership organisation that helps young people from all backgrounds discover their voice through its debate and mentoring programmes.

Having recently directed a rebrand which has seen the ESU become more recognised, it was imperative that the centenary derivative didn’t dilute or compromise this work. Therefore, our solution was to implement celebratory elements around their primary logo, rather than create something completely bespoke.

We incorporated the existing speech bubble into the ‘100’ and created a strapline to enhance the milestone context whilst reinforcing the message that ESU spread – ‘discovering voices | changing lives | 1918-2018’.

The centenary logo is now being showcased in their centenary magazine, on their centenary hub website and headlines their social media campaign with the trending hashtag #ESUSpeakOut, encouraging the public to share their voice and speak out about whatever topic they feel passionately about.  You can find the campaign at www.100.esu.org
